Took it to dealer, soot level at 85%. They said they did regen. 300kms and 2.5 weeks later, DPF light came on flashing (no solid light beforehand) also with engine light (info said check emission control system) and cruise control light flashing. Took it to dealer. Soot level 138%. Now they say they are trying to work out what's wrong with it.
Hi, I have a mazda 6 and a flashing DPF Light, Ive took it to a garage and they have found no fault codes, had the car serviced. Been told the flashing light can be a service light? they car doesnt go into limp mode and drives fine. Just wondering if anyone had an ideas to what the flashing
There will be a slight smell of burning from the dpf as it burns off. You will notice the mpg will be lower than normal. Make sure engine temp is in the middle of the gauge before you go to the 2500 for the burn off. You need to get onto a motorway or good road put car in 3rd or 4th gear and go to 2500 revs. The code will be thrown when you get to 135%. 4) DPF rescue is currently possible but hampered by your lockdown. a) The primary solution is to go for a good, long (30+mins) freeway/country drive and let the DPF regenerate normally (unless something is preventing this). COVID-19 lockdown may prevent this.
Within 5 seconds hold the lock button on your key fob for a few seconds, then release it. You might hear a light click. Then turn the car off. When you start the car, it will be reset. This is a built in reminder for you to check your key fob battery. This doesn't mean your battery is dead.

Was on a road trip last night and got a DIC warning that I had 175 miles until I was limited to 65 mph. Stopped and put in 2.5 gallons of DEF. After driving another 75 miles or so and trying several on/off with the ignition it didn't reset, so I topped it off with another 2 gallons.

The light flashes if the electric parking brake (EPB) has a malfunction. If the light remains flashing even if the electric parking brake (EPB) switch is operated, consult an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer as soon as possible. Check Engine Light. If this light illuminates while driving, the vehicle may have a problem.

After the engine has sufficiently warmed up (engine coolant temperature of 80 °C (176 °F) or more), depress the accelerator pedal and drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for about 15 to 20 minutes to eliminate the PM. When flashing.

There are also other problems that can cause the DPF light to stay and these can include faulty sensors or a EGR fault. I would get a second opinion from a diesel/DPF specialist and not take what Mazda say as gospel. They seem to like swapping out parts at vast expense that may not solve the problem (4 injectors £2000+). The DPF light always goes straight to flashing. Each time, I take it back to the dealership, they say it's a problem with the oil dilution counter (not the DPF), they clear the code, reset the counter and then Subaru provides a software update. I get anywhere between 2-5000klms before the DPF light starts flashing again. Here is what you need to do: Step 1: Switch on just the ignition, not the engine. Step 2: Press the accelerator all the way and hold it there for at least 30-40 seconds. Step 3: Release the accelerator. Step 4: Switch off the ignition and remove the key. Step 5: Start the car, and the AT warning light should disappear. bHDZT.
